Surface Preparation
All visible surface impurities such as grease, oils and dust must be removed using a suitable cleaner according to the specification: (1 SP * SSPC). Salts and other impurities must be removed using pure water at high pressure.
Any manufacturing defects, such as traces of welding, delamination, and sharp corners, are addressed before starting to prepare the surface.
Iron surfaces:
The surface must be prepared according to the standard, Sa2 (NACE No.3/SSPC-SP6) or Sa 2½ (ISO 8501-1)* (NACE No.2/SSPC-SP10).
